Values
-
Awareness
Awareness is the first step in the journey towards a purposeful and intentional life. If we could live in a world where we all moved towards an increased understanding of why we behave in the way we do, the effect that we have on others and that they have on us, the world could be a kinder place. Being aware of what we bring into our interactions, and how they might affect the world around us, allows us greater control of how we show up in the world.
-
Growth
We all live in a version of the world formed around our experiences, beliefs and values, and a number of these beliefs and values can limit us. Investing in our personal growth can allow us a more positive and fulfilled life experience, improved relationships with ourselves and others, and a healthier body and mind. Growth takes work but the benefits are numerous, and while there is no one size fits all approach to growth, the positive output of the investment in yourself is universal.
-
Connection
Meaningful connection is one of the greatest gifts we can give to each other. Throughout the centuries, creating connections with others has kept us alive, fed, and contributed to the continuation of the species. Although modern society enables us to meet a lot of these needs individually, the impact of connection on our physical and psychological health prevails to this day. A sense of belonging, understanding and being part of something greater than ourselves provides many with purpose in life.
How I can help.
I can work both in person and virtually, tailoring your treatment to your personal journey.
You'll receive recordings to listen to outside of sessions (where appropriate) and these will be personalised for you, your goals and growth. Your treatment plan will also be focused on helping you move from where you are to where you would like to be, and therefore no two therapy journeys are the same however similar they may seem.
While labels are not the focal point in therapy, it can be useful to see below some of the different things that people bring to the therapy room. If you have any questions about what this could look like for you, don't hesitate to reach out.

Prolonged periods of low mood, energy and that are affecting your quality of life can be hard to overcome. The symptoms can be both physical and psychological and can affect individuals differently. We work on understanding the root cause as well as aiming to improve quality of life in the short term.
-
Anxiety can be fear or worry that is ongoing and intrusive, or potentially around a particular area of your life. The manifestations can be physical as well as psychological and can make it difficult to fulfil daily tasks. Working to calm the nervous system and employ tools to manage anxiety while understanding its root cause can be a helpful direction for our work together.

One of the most popular uses of hypnotherapy is with phobias: whether heights, spiders, or theme parks, hypnotherapy has proven beneficial in reducing the emotional and physical responses to triggers. These will be done in the client's model of the world, as that is where the phobia exists, and we can work to understand why it exists and how to move past it.
-
Addictive behaviours can manifest in many different ways: drugs, alcohol, food, sex, spending, and these can have great negative impact on our lives. We can work together to retrain the brain, looking to replace some ongoing destructive habits with more positive ones for your life, but importantly, exploring if there is a deeper cause for addictive behaviour.

Maintaining healthy relationships can be difficult, but understanding any blockers that may exist between yourself and healthy relationships with romantic partners, friends or family is where Cognitive Hypnotherapy can help. We often find ourselves repeating learned behaviours or unhealthy patterns because it's familiar and safe, but it's not always helpful. This is where the work can be done.

Often issues with food and body image stem from something deeper. Treatment will aim to meet the individual where they are and make progress toward a more positive relationship with themselves and with food, so that they can live a happier and healthier life.

Change is hard - but it's also inevitable, and sometimes we need a helping hand to navigate what these changes mean for us. Whether the change is happening to you, or you are looking to make a change, understanding the motivations for change and the impact and potential benefits of change will increase the chances of a positive outcome.
-
Sometimes we all need a boost, whether it's imposter syndrome or low self-esteem, learning to be your biggest supporter and best friend can break down perceived barriers and allow you to step into your strongest and most true self. It's all in you, it just needs uncovering.
